An extensive selection of Ella Fitzgerald vocal arrangements for solo vocalist with big band.

Who was Ella Fitzgerald?

Ella Jane Fitzgerald was born in Newport News, Virginia and despite a troubled early upbringing she went on to become one of the most influential female singers and performers of the 20th century. She started with the Chick Webb Orchestra but left in 1942 to start her solo career that would last until her death in 1996. She recorded a series of eight "Songbook" albums with Verve, including the "Cole Porter Songbook", the "Irving Berlin Songbook" and the "Harold Arlen Songbook". She produced numerous hits in collaboration with the finest arrangers of the era such as Nelson Riddle, Billy May, Buddy Bregman and Marty Paich.

Which are her most famous charts?

There are almost too many to count, so here are a few that are instantly recognisable. "A Tisket A Tasket" with the Chick Webb band, "Georgia On My Mind" and "Too Marvelous For Words" with Nelson Riddle, "I've Got You Under My Skin" and "Too Darn Hot" with Paul Weston, "Accentuate the Positive" and "It's Only a Paper Moon" with Billy May.
