Who was Frank Sinatra?

Frances Albert Sinatra was born in Hoboken, New Jersey and from humble roots he went on to become one of the most popular and influential singers and performers of the 20th century. He sang with the Harry James and Tommy Dorsey Orchestras in the late 1930's, recorded with Columbia in the 1940's and Capitol Records in the 1950's. He formed his own record label, Reprise Records, in 1960. Sinatra worked with the finest arrangers of the era such as Nelson Riddle, Don Costa, Neal Hefti and Quincy Jones to produce a seemingly endless stream of chart topping and critically acclaimed albums.

Which charts was he best known for?

There are almost too many to count, so here are a few that are instantly recognisable. "Come Fly With Me" and "Fly Me To The Moon", arranged by Quincy Jones, "I've Got You Under My Skin" and "Witchcraft" from Nelson Riddle, "New York New York" and "My Way" from Don Costa, "The Tender Trap" and "Pick Yourself Up" from Neal Hefti.
