Down South Camp Meetin' is another great Fletcher Henderson chart as performed by Benny Goodman's orchestra. We have adapted the arangement which Goodman recorded in New York, April 1951, to bring it up to 8 brass, without losing the feel and flavour of the original. The reeds are scored for solo Clarinet, 2 Altos and 2 Tenors, with all 4 Saxes doubling Clarinets for the final chorus. We have written out BG's solo in full, although your player can improvise from the chords provided instead.
