Instrumentals
These instrumental big band charts are arrangements of or transcriptions from classic bands of the big band era, such as Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Ted Heath, Glen Gray, Ray Anthony etc., plus a selection of original funk, latin and rock charts. Unless otherwise stated, we arrange each Big Band chart for a standard line-up of 5 Saxes, (with instrument doubles indicated), 4 Trumpets, 4 Trombones and 4 Rhythm (Piano, Bass, Guitar, Drums). Our instrumental big band charts contain all 17 parts and a full score. Everything is clearly printed and easy for your players to read. Rehearsal letters, articulations, dynamics, measure numbers, lyrics and everything else is all there for you. If you need specific information about a particular chart, how to place an order or anything else, please just ask. To download our catalogues in pdf or xls format take a look at our catalogue page.
Where a well known arrangement contains an equally well known solo, such as Bobby Hackett’s cornet solo in “A String of Pearls”, we generally write the “as played” solo on the part, with chord symbols too, in case your player prefers to improvise. Our arrangements on this site have free downloadable samples, so you can see and hear something of each chart. These samples are generally the first few pages of the score, plus an mp3. The audio files are low-resolution, but good enough to get a feel for the song.
We sell our charts in UK£ Sterling. If you are purchasing from outside the UK please feel free to use our currency converter. If you have any questions please either see our FAQs or contact us. We deliver our charts by air mail or courier in the form of printed copies. We are working on a pdf delivery option which we hope to make available this year. Watch this space.
