Here is our take on Basie's seminal version of Moten Swing, recorded in 1959 and originally arranged by Ernie Wilkins. Aside from the Piano solo intro, all solos (Piano, Trumpet 2 & Tenor 1) are improvised from the chords provided. We have included all of the little piano licks and drum fills, as well as all of the articulations and dynamics, to enable your band to reproduce the original Basie sound. This is a relaxed yet hard swinging chart which can be used either in a gig or concert setting. There are no sax doubles.
