Donut King was conceived by Nick Capocci during a trip to the USA in 1986, whilst sat in a traffic jam in a Yellow Cab! This number works equally well as a Salsa or, if your band uses an electric bass, a straight Rock feel - along the lines of Hawaii 5-0. After the theme choruses there are open solos for alto, tenor, trombone or piano, and finally a drum solo. This leads to a very cleverly written brass fanfare that builds to the last chorus. A great chart to play and listen to.
