Here is our take on Nelson Riddle's beautiful chart written for Ella Fitzgerald. We have adapted this chart to make it playable with a regular 5444 big band line-up, whilst keeping the feel and flavour of the original concept. Alto 1 doubles Flute, Alto 2 and both Tenors double clarinet and Baritome doubles Bass Clarinet. However, we recognise that not all bands can cover these doubles, so we have printed the parts double sided, with a no-double option on the reverse. The Flute lead can be taken by either Alto 1 or Tenor 1 too. The brass ranges are moderate and the vocal part is notated "as sung" by Ella. The vocal key is Ab throughout.
